How the PS Attend employee self-service app collects, uses, shares and protects your data. Applies to the PS Attend mobile app (Android).
Last updated 02 Nov 2026
This privacy policy explains how the PS Attend mobile app (Android package essapp.app), published by ParaTech Software Solutions (Pvt.) Ltd., collects, uses, shares and protects your data. Last updated: 2 November 2026.
Who we are
PS Attend is an employee self-service (ESS) app developed by ParaTech Software Solutions (Pvt.) Ltd. ("ParaTech", "we", "us"), Lahore, Pakistan. It is the mobile companion to the ParaTech ESS / HRMS system that your employer uses.
PS Attend is provided to organisations, not to the public. Your employer creates your account and gives you a company code to sign in. Your employer decides which features you can use and what HR data is kept about you. ParaTech provides and operates the app on your employer's behalf.
This policy covers the PS Attend mobile app only. It does not cover ParaTech's websites, which have their own privacy policy.
Data we collect
We collect only the data the app needs to provide its HR features. Most of it is entered by you or provided by your employer.

| Photos | A selfie taken in the app, stamped with date, time and address | When you clock in or out and at each client visit step | To verify attendance and visits |
| Photos and files you choose | Profile picture, task attachments, comment attachments, files you share into the app | Only when you pick or share them | To show your profile picture and attach files to tasks |
| HR records | Leave, salary advance, cash advance and resignation requests; approvals; client visits and feedback; tasks, projects and comments; notices and company policies | When you create or view them | To provide the ESS features your employer has enabled |
| Payroll information | Payslips, salary, tax, EOBI, provident fund and loan reports | When you open a report | To show you your own payroll information from your employer |

PS Attend does not collect your contacts, SMS, call logs, browsing history or advertising ID, and it contains no advertising or analytics SDKs.
Permissions the app asks for
The app asks for each permission only when a feature needs it. You can turn any of them off in your device settings, but the related feature will stop working.
| Permission | What it is used for |
|---|---|
| Location (precise) | Clock in/out, office geofence check, client visit check-in and check-out |
| Location while a visit is running (foreground service) | Recording the route of a client visit while the app is in the background, with a visible "PS Attend - Tracking Location" notification |
| Camera | Attendance and visit selfies, profile picture |
| Microphone | Recording voice notes, and audio for the in-app camera |
| Photos and files | Choosing a profile picture or attachments, saving payslip and report PDFs |
| Notifications | Approval, request and notice alerts |
| Battery optimisation exemption | Letting pending attendance and visit records upload in the background |
| Network and Wi-Fi state | Detecting when you are offline so records can be saved and uploaded later |
Location, including background location
PS Attend uses your precise location at specific moments only:
- Clock in and clock out. The app reads your location once, works out the address, and checks whether you are inside your office's attendance area. The location, address and result are saved with the attendance record.
- Attendance screen. While the screen is open, the app shows whether you are inside the attendance area. This check runs on your device.
- Client visits. When you start travelling to or from a client, the app records your location about once a minute, or when you move about 20 metres, until you reach the next visit step. This continues when the app is closed or not in use, and a persistent "PS Attend - Tracking Location" notification is shown the whole time. Tracking stops automatically when you check in at the client or arrive back home.
PS Attend does not track your location outside these features, and never when you are not running a visit. Location data is shared only with your employer and with the Google Maps services used to convert coordinates into addresses.
How we use your data
We use your data only to provide and improve PS Attend for you and your employer:
- record attendance, client visits and the routes travelled
- submit, track and approve leave, advance, resignation and other HR requests
- show your payslips and payroll reports, and let you save them as PDFs
- manage tasks, projects, comments, notices and company policies
- send notifications about approvals, requests and announcements
- keep your account secure and detect misuse
- fix crashes and keep the app working on supported devices
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it.
How we share your data
We share data only with the parties below, and only for the purposes in this policy.
| Shared with | What | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your employer (HR, your line manager and approvers) | Everything you submit through the app: attendance, location, selfies, visits, requests, tasks and device details | Your employer runs the HR system the app connects to |
| Google Firebase (Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics) | Notification token, crash reports, device and OS details | To deliver notifications and crash reports (Firebase privacy) |
| Google Maps Platform (Maps, Places, Geocoding) | Coordinates and the addresses you search for | To show maps, search addresses and turn coordinates into addresses (Google Privacy Policy) |
| Authorities, when legally required | Data requested under a valid legal process | To comply with the law or protect rights and safety |
We do not sell your personal data, share it with advertisers or data brokers, or use it to build advertising profiles.
Storage, security and retention
- In transit. All data the app sends to your employer's system and to Google services travels over encrypted HTTPS connections.
- On your device. So that attendance and requests work without internet, the app stores them on your device and uploads them when you are back online. Uploaded attendance records are removed from the device after 7 days. Payslip and report PDFs you download stay on your device until you delete them.
- Saved sign-in. The app saves your email and password on your device so the sign-in screen can be filled in for you.
- On the server. Your employer's HR data is kept for as long as your employer keeps your account active, and afterwards for as long as your employer's records policy or the law requires.
- Access. Only authorised staff of your employer, and ParaTech staff who maintain the service, can access your data, and only to provide or support the service.
Your choices and rights
- Permissions. You can allow or deny location, camera, microphone, photos and notifications at any time in your device settings.
- Stop background tracking. Background location runs only during a client visit; it stops when you reach the next visit step or deny location permission.
- Access and correction. Ask your employer's HR team, or contact us, to see or correct the data held about you.
- Data on your device. Signing out removes your session. Uninstalling the app removes the data it stored on your device.
Account and data deletion
Accounts are created and closed by your employer. To delete your account and its data, ask your employer's HR team, or email us at info@paratech.com.pk with your name, company and employee ID. We will verify the request with your employer and delete or anonymise the data, except where your employer or the law requires us to keep it.
Children
PS Attend is a workplace app for employees and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app changes. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app or through your employer.
